Rachael Eggleston named National Merit Finalist
Congratulations to Rachael Eggleston who is among 15,000 students nationwide to achieve finalist standing in the 2019 National Merit Scholarship Program. More than 1.6 million juniors in about 22,000 high schools entered the 2019 National Merit Scholarship Program by taking the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test. A pool of nationwide semifinalists, which represents less than 1 percent of U.S. high school seniors, was then selected.
The finalists have an opportunity to continue in the competition for about 7,500 National Merit Scholarships available that are worth a total of more than $31 million. About half of all finalists will win a scholarship, earning them the Merit Scholar title.
